Commissioner of the Gotham Police, Jim Gordon has struck up a strange alliance with the masked vigilante, the Batman. Jim takes flak occasionally for his known association with this vigilante, but the Batman continues to bring in the bad guys and doesn't seem to step over the line (much).

Father to Barbara Gordon (see Batgirl and Oracle).

Hair should be white, not grey as here.

Hasbro eventually did make a Jim Gordon figure in 2001 -- but they used
the new model sheets for it, which I never liked -- and they left off Jim's
overcoat as well.

Gordon was a figure I'd been dying to make, but couldn't seem to get the pieces together until Kenner made their Machine Gun Joker. Jim's body is that Joker with the string tie and flower sanded off. I also cut and sanded off the edges of Joker's vest and jacket, added a couple of pieces of cut plastic for Jim's belt and some Sculpey for the tie.

The head is a Capture Net Superman head, with mustache added. Next the hair had to be completely reculpted -- getting Jim's signature little flip of hair at the right side was easier than I thought it would be.

The glasses are made from a couple of googly eyes with the backs cut off and the tops squared off. I then lined the edges with a black Sharpie. The ear pieces are cut plastic.

All in all, the hardest part was using enough superglue that his glasses stayed on, but not so much that the glue fogged the "glass" completely. The next hardest was trying to get the super soft Sculpey to form eyebrows and a mustahce!
