Max Mercury and Impulse

Max Mercury, retired speedster, has been forced out of retirement to attempt to train the hyperactive Impulse.

Okay, Max's eyes look like crap. I finally got tired of messing with them and will try to come back to them again later. And I'll add real ears instead of painted ones. I was in the hospital when working on Max and they kind of frown on boiling water so you can cook the sculpting compound on your action figures. (Although they were utterly fascinated by the hobby itself.)

Max is made from some Speed Racer guy. Racer X, I think. The head was cut down a bit with an X-Acto knife and then sanded down. The collar was done with Sculpey.

Impulse:
This is the third Impulse I've made, I think. The first used the Dick Grayson teenager body, the second used the small Robin, but it was a commission job and I wanted one of my own. For this one I extended his legs about a 1/4 inch with Sculpey to give him a bit more height. The ear pieces are a bead and cut plastic and the ankle and wrist pieces are bits of rubberband.
